About Xis Network / Nave Sonora
Nave Sonora is a virtual meeting that marks the debut of the Xis Network and will feature free workshops and musical performances by selected artists
In order to train and promote the meeting of new music artists with agents from different locations and segments within the music market, the NAVE SONORA project, an initiative of the recently opened Rede Xis platform (XYS Music Network), holds its first edition in a completely online between April 13th and 16th, with free registrations already released - www.navesonora.com.br . A week later, on April 22nd and 23rd, the event promotes showcases (musical films) by six pre-selected artists.
At a time when most of the musicians and the music chain is practically out of work - since the market survives significantly from live concerts - the opportunity for training and income generation through an online event has a moral meaning that goes beyond economic / financial ratios. SONORA SHIP is a way for beginning artists to maintain their work and become professional regardless of the negative impact caused by the pandemic.
"Nave Sonora is a mentoring event with workshops and musical presentations, but it aims to bring together mentors and artists to show how these careers can be defined - and one month before the event, we will put artists and mentors together to develop presentations collectively", says Flávio "Scubi" de Abreu, creator and executive producer of the event.
"The event was thinking about this situation of scarcity in the musical environment and its idea is to offer independent artists more tools to manage their careers and professional goals, counting that the entire production team is leaner and with less resources in this sense", completes Amanda Desmonts , project production and communication coordinator.
"It is very important that mentors and artists can work together not only on their projects, but that they can exchange information with each other to enrich their presentations", concludes journalist Alexandre Matias, editorial coordinator and curator of the event.
The three are part of the project's mentor corps, each strategically located in their respective areas of experience - Scubi (career management), Matias (artistic direction) and Amanda (field production). Besides them, the NAVE SONORA mentor board is completed with Nancy Silva (executive production), Anna Turra (production and stage direction) and Nath Birkholz (communication). Each of these names will accompany a specific artist, guiding them during the assembly of their projects.
Over the course of five weeks, six artists pre-nominated by the committee of mentors will develop an audiovisual show - showcase - which will be shown as their respective final projects. During the period of just over a month, the curatorial commission will hold specific workshops in their areas of experience, using the selected attractions as a case study, while monitoring the development of this show and all the pre-production features. involved there.
Thus, NAVE SONORA brings 6 workshops open to the public and 6 showcases of these new and promising names in national authorial music.

Pandemic and networked music
NAVE SONORA is an initiative by Rede Xis, which aims to establish itself as the largest matchmaking platform in the music market in Brazil and also a reference in the creative economy industry. Platform and event are born from the extensive experience of Scubidu Music, a producer present in more than one hundred congresses, fairs and cultural markets spread over four continents in the last 15 years.
Almost a year since the beginning of social isolation in Brazil due to the pandemic of the new Coronavirus, Scubidu Music actively participated in several events that were "digitized", that is, projects that would take place in person, but that had to be adapted for the virtual environment.
At a time when the music ecosystem needs to be networked, the Xis Network is committed to having a transformative role. Its first action, NAVE SONORA, wants to establish new paradigms for the presentation of artistic works, national and international negotiation and practical results in a totally digital and free event.
